Daily Mail: It is bad enough blubbing at a film in front of your friends or partner, so imagine the horror of sobbing on a packed plane.
But apparently, many passengers are finding themselves in that very situation, secretly crying into their airline-issued blankets while watching movies like Water for Elephants, the romantic drama starring Reese Witherspoon and Robert Pattinson.
So much so, that Virgin Atlantic has decided to put 'weep warnings' on tearjerker films shown on flights.
In a bid to help passengers navigate the emotional fallout of their in-flight film choices, the signs will flash up at the start of the movie to warn about weepy content.
The move by Sir Richard Branson's airline apparently follows a recent survey which showed that 55 per cent of passengers questioned found their emotions became heightened on a flight.
As many as 41 per cent of men polled said they hid under blankets to hide their tears, while women said they were most likely to pretend they had something in their eye.
If you'd rather not end up comforting the passenger sobbing in the seat next to you, avoid being placed near anyone from Wolverhampton.
The survey found that people from the West Midlands city are the most emotionally sensitive.
While those from Gloucester are the least likely to join the 'mile high blub club', Virgin said.
The films Virgin passengers found most emotionally moving were Toy Story 3, The Blind Side and Eat Pray Love.
