The life of a teenager is rough.
Not a lot of sleep.
Too much homework which cuts into sleeping.
School which cuts into sleeping.
Sports which delay you from doing homework at an early hour which cuts into sleeping.
Social lives which have to be scheduled around sports which delays you from doing homework at an early hour which cuts into sleeping.
Whew. Life really is rough.
And that is why I love coffee. And pants that hide my legs which I didn't have time to shave. And messy buns which for me only turn out messy when they're on top of my head; if they're on the back they're these perfectly shaped little buns which don't require any bobby pins.
It's also why I only paint my toe nails because I don't have to worry about them for another few months. It's why I wear minimal make up so I don't have to take a lot off. It's why I barely wear any jewelry because it takes thought to put on and more thought to remember where I put it after I took it off.
And through it all, it just builds character, adds a bit of acne, and jacks up my muscles (and maybe my caffeine addiction.) Time to brush my teeth, dispose of all evidence of ice cream, get into my pajamas and prepare to have nightmares by watching Criminal Minds. I can't resist. It's that or old episodes of Dance Moms.
