Newsprint Nails

          Around Tumblr, I saw a post about how to paint your nails and have text on them. It looked pretty simple and cute. I just  had to try it out. Of course, for my confirmation and graduation, I had gotten a manicure/ pedicure. It was only $35 for both. Score. Anyway, I didn't want to remove it since I actually graduate tonight and I just got my nails done last Friday.
          I looked to my sick little sister and noticed her itty bitty chewed up nails were looking rather plain. Hmmm. Cheer her up and test out this idea? Sounds like a plan to me.

          
         Here's how to get these babies:
1. Paint your nails in a desired color. The lighter the shade, the darker the words will show up on them.
2. Dip your nails into alcohol. It suggest vodka but all we had was alcohol swabs so I just used those.
3. Press a small piece of newspaper onto the nail and leave it there for a few seconds, applying some pressure.
4. Peel off slowly and be amazed. Mostly.

This doesn't work all the time. Since we used the swabs, it doesn't get the nail as soaked so we didn't have that high of a success rate.

           The writing is pretty hard to see in the pictures but you can still tell we didn't get too many words on them. In the picture I saw, they had a lot of print on them. I was lucky if I got one or two words. This is definitely a repeat but with lighter polish, actual alcohol, and bigger nails.
