Venus Raj and Andrei Felix UMK co-hosts and real life couple

“Umagang Kay Ganda (UKG)” co-hosts and real-life couple Andrei Felix and Venus Raj agree that love in the workplace has its ups and downs.

“Sobrang saya kasi nagsimula kami bilang magkaibigan. Nakilala namin yung isa’t isa bago pa man kami na in-love. Nakakatuwa na alam mo na yung ugali ng isa, wala nang pagpripretend kasi kilala ko na siya,” Venus said at the Star Magic Games 2012 at the Celebrity Sports Plaza on Sunday, July 29, 2012. 

She and Andrei are on their eighth month as a couple. 

Andrei, who was also at the sports fest, added that starting off as friends allowed him and Venus to know each other’s “strength and weaknesses” and discover the “advantages and disadvantages” of working as a couple.

“Hindi natin maiiwasan iyon, may advantages and disadvantages. Advantages you work with your partner. Kapag in synch kami, in synch kami talaga. Kaya lang, kapag may tampuhan, hindi mo maiiwasan na alam mo iyon.” 

He added that they try not to let their relationship affect their work.

“Tina-try namin na hindi maapektuhan kasi right from the very beginning, ang sabi naming ang hindi dapat maapektuhan is yung trabaho, dahil bago pa man naging kami, pumasok siya sa industriya, ako sa UKG. So maganda na hindi maapektuhan,” Andrei explained.

Public displays of affection

As for their alleged public displays of affection, Venus thinks what matters is they’re not stepping on anyone’s toes.

“Siguro pwede nilang bigyan ng ibang kulay kung hindi kami magboyfriend-girlfriend. Lahat naman tayo dumadaan sa ganyang phase sa buhay natin, na-in love. Kapag mahal mo ang isang tao, wala kang pakialam sa sasabihin ng ibang tao, as long as hindi ka nakakasakit ng iyong kapwa.” 

Wedding plans

Andrei and Venus shared that although they have wedding plans, they’re not in a hurry to tie the knot. They still have to focus on their future and individual careers.

“We can always project kung kalian namin gusto magpakasal. Sabi ko sana in the next two to three years. Pero sabi ko nga, ‘Gawin mo muna lahat ng gusto mo sa career mo.’ Ako rin ganoon din. So sabi ko sa kanya, ipagdasal na lang natin sa Diyos. Even if we say na let’s get married, pero hindi pa pala ready ang lahat, everything will fall into place,” Andrei revealed.
