Why are we all so mad?

Life is confusing. Completely confusing as a matter of fact. Yesterday, we had our second cheer competition of the season.
Instead of competing against our division which we happen to be ranked second in the state in, the particular competition decided to use our scores from last year to divide us up into 2 pools. We of course, got put into Pool A with all the huge power house teams.
Out of 25 or so teams, we took 9th I think. Not too bad considering we were up against amazing teams.
We made two big accomplishments yesterday. We scored the highest out of any teams this year for our Round 1 which is a cheer that consists of ripples, jumps, and motions with no tumbling or stunting. The other accomplishment was breaking our school record for Round 2 which is where everyone does exactly the same thing. Ours had team back tucks in it which not everybody landed but we never do.
For our round 3, we did bad. Really bad for our standards but other teams did worse. Round 3 is stunting and tumbling passes. Our coach had changed it on Thursday. We competed on Saturday. It was drastically changed and even included a girl being thrown in that day because another had sprained her ankle the day before.
What I don't get is why are we so mad? Everyone is making a big deal out of it. Plain and simple, we did good! We're not going to win every single competition and it's not fair to demolish every other team in our division. We have to let them have a turn to win!
Oh well, I have one day off before jumping into the whole thing again. *Sigh*

How about a quick rundown of our team mottos. Some tend to be a bit mean and don't come from our coach.

"If you're not first, your last." (Obviously not from the coach.)
"Sucks to suck." (Again, not from the coach.)
"Pain is temporary, pride is forever." (Actually from the coach.)
"To be the best, you have to beat the best."
"The only place you find success before work is in the dictionary."
"The only way to get what you want is to work for it."
"The will must be stronger than the skill."

Any of these (except for maybe the first two) are really good to remember when working our or just working towards something in general.
Have a good day everyone!
