Phelps Is 19...and Counting

Michael Phelps has turned around his slow start at the London Olympics by setting a new Olympic medals record that anyone will be hard-pressed to break any time soon.

Yes, indeed, kids – 27-year-old Phelps made history at the Games of the XXX Olympiad yesterday when he won his 19th medal, which made him the Olympian with the most hardware in any sport.

Larissa Latynina, a gymnast from the former Soviet Union, held the record of 18 individual medals up until then.

Phelps’ career haul so far includes 15 gold, two silver, and two bronze medals – and, what’s even sweeter is he could leave London with another three if everything goes his way.

Let’s do it, Michael. Go Team USA!
