The Olympics Get a Shot of Spice

Let’s hear it for the London Olympics, y’all.

Organizers have scored a Spice Girls reunion for the Aug. 12 closing ceremony of the upcoming games – and I. Love. It.

Evidently, Posh (I know, I know...Victoria Beckham is what she goes by now, but whatever) was the only one reluctant to say yes to the gig (what...a sourpuss), but, ultimately, Scary (Melanie Brown) persuaded her to bring a little Girl Power to the Olympiad (it must be said that Brown has long wanted another reunion).

Yay! Cant wait to see them swing it, shake it, move it, make it” again.

Update: Oy, why must there be drama?

Victoria Beckham is rumored to have agreed to a Spice Girls Olympic reunion if, and only if this is the last time the quintet gets back together for an on-stage performance.

Again: what...a sourpuss if it is true.

Spice Girls Forever

For a quintet that was often dismissed as fluff, the Spice Girls sure have plenty of enduring Girl Power.

Scary, Sporty, Ginger, Baby, and Posh reunited once again, today in London, to promote Viva Forever!, a new musical based on their music.

The show, which is under the helm of Absolutely Fabulous’ Jennifer Saunders and is being produced by Mamma Mia!’s Judy Craymer, is set to open in December at the Piccadilly Theatre in the British capital. It will follow the journey of a girl following her dreams of stardom and the impact achieving it has on not only her but those around her as well.

Oooh, I hear London callin’, asking me to say I’ll be there....

Some Spice for the Queen

The Spice Girls are readying another reunion.

And I’m dying....

Alright, I’m back.

Yes, according to Melanie Brown, a.k.a. Scary Spice, the quintet will get back together this summer for a very special performance at the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.

I think [that one] is the event I’d be looking at more closely for [a reunion] to happen,” instead of, say, the London Olympics, Brown said, before adding she is always for one such reunion.

I am going to be in such strife for saying that. It’s all so totally bloody top-secret still.

Well, not anymore, darling!

Sure hope this celebration will be televised.
