'Jersey Shore' Gets Season Six Premiere Date

MTV announced that Snooki and JWoww will also be back for another season of their spin-off.

They're back! Come this October those crazy kids of the "Jersey Shore" will be returning to Seaside for more antics, parties, and this time, babies.

The show is set to premiere its sixth season on Thursday, October 4, at 10 p.m., MTV announced at the Summer 2012 Television Critics Association Press Tour. In addition to a pregnant Snooki and her bestie JWoww having fun on that show, the network shared that they will also get a second season of their spin-off, "Snooki & JWoww."

But, that was hardly all the news the network announced on Thursday. In addition to green lighting a second season of the hidden camera show "Money From Strangers" and the socially conscious "World of Jenks," they also announced several new series.

The new dramedy "Underemployed" will premiere on October 16 at 10 p.m. The same night "World of Jenks" premieres on Monday, November 12, at 11 p.m., MTV's newest docu-series, "Catfish: The TV Show," (at 10 p.m.) based on the critically acclaimed Sundance film, will also debut.

The tail-end of the summer will also see some new shows for the network. The highly anticipated U.S. adaptation of the beloved British comedy "The Inbetweeners" lands Stateside on Monday, August 20, at 10:30 p.m. The show follows a group of high school boys who are trying to navigate the politics of being stuck somewhere in-between popular and, well, not-so-popular. It will air right after Rob Dyrdek's hit series "Ridiculousness" on MTV at 10 p.m.

Olympic Champion Gabby Douglas (An All Around Finals Wrap-Up)

Olympic Champion Gabby Douglas. I can't believe that she really did it! For some reason, I'm having a hard time coming to terms with her win. Don't get me wrong, of course I am extremely excited for her. Something just seems off. I'll admit, I was rooting for Aly to pull a huge upset. And, if you had forced me to choose two for the AA I would have chosen Aly and Jordyn. I think that it was weird for me to watch an Olympic AA without Jordyn competing. I had certainly assumed she would make the finals, and I thought it would be a Jordyn/Gabby/Vika fight for the gold. It's weird that I didn't get to see her challenge, but nevertheless I am thrilled for Gabby and I am so amazed by her performance.

I'm really impressed with Gabby's vault. I was surprised when she came out at nationals with such a strong Amanar. Next was bars, which were beautiful, as always. She doesn't put as much in as Mustafina or Vika, but she moves so gracefully and I love it. Next was beam, which almost gave me a heart attack. Even though I know better, I've always doubted Gabby's beam since 2010 Nationals. I know she's past that, and I know she's not a "headcase", but I still get nervous. I was thrilled when she pulled through that routine almost flawlessly. Gabby finished on floor, which looked beautiful. It was so nice to see her so happy with her performance.

What I love about Gabby is that she has improved so much in such a short time. I have so much respect for Chow and all that he's done to get her where she is. Gabby continues to amaze me by coming out and hitting day after day. She's hit 12-for-12 in competition in the Olympics so far (She had a huge step out on floor in TQ, but still placed 3rd in the world, so I'm counting it as a hit) and I certainly didn't think she had the stamina or focus to do that. I love that she continues to prove me wrong and get stronger and stronger, even as I think she won't be able to handle it. She finished with a HUGE score of 62.232. Is that the highest of this quad? It's certainly an accomplishment to get that huge of a score on the Olympic stage.

The other news with this AA finals was the tiebreak. Aly and Mustafina tied for third, with 59.566 points each. The official tiebreak takes each girl's top three scores and whoever has the highest total of those three wins. Unfortunately, Aly came just short of Mustafina. I am SO upset that it had to end this way for Aly. She puts in hit routine after hit routine in every team competition, and never seems to get the recognition that I feel she deserves individually. The fact that Aly can have such a good AA score with such a weak bar routine is so impressive, and I don't think that we give her enough credit for that. It's heartbreaking to see her off the podium even though she had the same score as the bronze medalist. In all the interviews I've seen, she's been so incredibly classy and gracious towards Mustfina and Gabby, and I really appreciate that.

Overall, I really enjoyed these AA Finals. We certainly had an exciting finish, and I am thrilled that Gabby came out on top. She really does deserve it.

T.I. Aiming To Complete Trouble Man By Year's End

When T.I. returned home from prison last fall, he hit the ground running, filming his VH1 reality series "The Family Hustle" and immediately beginning work on his eighth solo album Trouble Man. Since then, Tip has remained on the grind, but he's slowed things down a bit when it comes to finishing up his anticipated LP.

Though the album was most recently expected to debut in September, the Atlanta rapper said he refuses to rush the process.

"Me being the perfectionist that I am, I'm still tweaking and fine-tuning, trying to perfect all parts of this project," Tip told MTV News, confirming that the album won't be complete for another few months. "I did, like, 124 songs, and I've narrowed it down to 86 now, so now I have to continue to narrow down and continue to make it better.

"I'm not trying to paint myself into a corner with a date," he added. "I'm trying to make sure that the project is the absolute best it could be, and I'm trying to get it down by the end of the year."

From those 86 options, T.I. is hoping to whittle his track list down to 14 or 15 tracks that will create a uniform project. In the meantime, he's promoting his recurring role on the Starz series "Boss" and keeping an open dialog about a tour with the entire Grand Hustle team.

"That's a very likely possibility," he said of heading out on the road with B.o.B, Iggy Azalea and crew. "We just have to find the right time and right opportunity to get it done, but we've been talking about it ever since I came home."

Kudos to Gabby Douglas, but Shame on NBC

Congratulations to Gabby Douglas, 16, who becomes the third consecutive American gymnast along with Carly Patterson (2004 Athens Olympics) and Nastia Liukin (2008 Beijing Olympics) to win all-around gold. Douglas, who was greatly influenced by Dominique Dawes, a member of the 1996 Olympics gymnastics team that won gold in Atlanta, becomes the first African-American to win an individual gold medal in women's gymnastics.

But, we feel outraged that NBC, the network broadcasting the games in the United States, had to zoom in constantly on Viktoria Komova, 17, the Russian gymnast who ended up finishing second as she underperformed on the floor exercise, her last event.

This was yet another dubious moment for the network which has been scorned by American Olympic viewers on social media outlets, such as Twitter and Facebook. NBC was also criticized for not airing a moment of silence to the victims of the July 7, 2005, London terrorist attacks at the opening ceremonies of the games.

There was yet another controversy in women's gymnastics at the games, and for a second time, it involved American gymnast Aly Raisman, as she lost a tie-breaker to Russian gymnast Aliya Mustafina, 17, because the Russian gymnasts' lowest score, which occurred on the balance beam, was dropped.

Earlier, Raisman had edged out teammate Jordyn Wieber, the defending world champion, for the second American slot in the all-around competition. A provocative new rule states that only two gymnasts from each country may compete irregardless of scores.

Olympic Stories- Satomi Suzuki Helping Japan in the Pool

When one thinks of swimming, the countries which first come to mind are the United States, Australia and perhaps China. But, Japan has had a really strong showing in the pool at the 2012 London Olympics as well. Though Team Japan did not win a gold medal in swimming, the team has so far garnered nine medals, including two silvers and seven bronze medals.

One of those silver medals came from Satomi Suzuki, 21, who won the medal in the 200-meter breast-stroke. Suzuki also won a bronze medal in the 100-meter breast-stroke.

According to "Japan Daily News," Suzuki finished the 200-meter breast-stroke in 2 minutes, 20.72 seconds, which was more than a full second behind the winner Rebecca Soni of the United States, however she was able to tie a Japanese record with her time.

Yuliya Yefimova of Russia finished third in that race.

So far, Japan has scored 21 medals overall, including two gold medals from Kaori Matsumoto in women's judo and Kohie Uchimara in men's gymnastics.

Olympic Stories- Camille Muffat Wins Gold for France

French swimmer Camille Muffat, 22, won gold today for France in the 400-meter free-style. Earlier in the 2012 London Olympics, she won silver in the 200-meters race.

In today's action, Muffat edged out Allison Schmitt of the United States who won silver and the home pool favorite Rebecca Adlington of Great Britain who finished in third and received a bronze medal. Frederica Pellegrini of Italy was also expected to medal in the race, but she failed to come through.

France is having a particularly strong Olympics so far with 8 gold, 5 silvers and 6 bronze medals.

Other French gold medalists include Tony Estanguet (men's canoeing), Teddy Riner (men's judo) and Lucie Decosse (women's judo).
