The Acting Bug Has Bitten Him

Adam Levine is totally into the acting thing.

The Voice coach is not only making his TV acting debut on FX’s American Horror Story next season, he’s also looking to make a splash on the big screen.

The budding actor has signed on to star opposite Keira Knightley, as her kinda-mean bf, in Can a Song Save Your Life, the next film from Once director John Carney.

Mark Ruffalo and Hailee Steinfeld (True Grit) are set to co-star, he as a music producer and she as...uh...I don’t know.

The new Details has made a bold statement: The magazine has declared Adam Levine the new King of Pop on its cover.

Mmm, I always thought that Justin Timberlake was it.... But then he had to go and give up music for a while after bringing sexy back.

Anyway, I guess if you’ve got it you’ve got going on, right? Not that I disagree with Details, mind ya.

The Nerd Saves the Day

Would you buy Adam Levine as a pencil-pushing bank worker who wears glasses and doesn’t have much game with the ladies?

I really, really wouldn’t, but I totally would see him saving the day (and the girl) should a bunch robbers break into a bank, which is what happens in the video for Maroon 5’s latest, “Payphone,” featuring Whiz Khalifa, the lead single off the band’s upcoming album Overexposed.

The clip casts Levine in the role of a the nerd who ends up saving the day, and getting taken by the cops as an accomplice. Gunfire, car chases through L.A., explosions, bloodying of the singer’s punum, and losing of his shirt ensue.

It’s a thrill ride, alright – and the song is a classic Maroon 5 earworm. I enjoy.

P.S.: Now that Maroon 5 has dropped “Payphone” – and Beyoncé has “Video Phone” and Lady Gaga has “Telephone” and Kylie Minogue has “Speakerphone”– I have decided to come out with my own song inspired by a communication device. Get ready for...“Baby Monitor.”

It’s true, though: Levine and Victoria’s Secret model Anne V have broken up. They are done.

Scary Adam

Looks like Adam Levine has launched an assault on the zeitgeist.

The Maroon 5 frontman is enjoying the fruits of being a Voice coach on TV, prepping to launch his first fragrance line, and now, evidently, getting ready to act.

Levine reportedly is thisclose to inking a deal so he can make his oh-s-sexy television acting debut on FX’s American Horror Story next season.

He would be playing a contemporary character and one half of a pair known as “The Lovers.”

American Horror Story’s sophomore run will take place in and around an East Coast “horror institution,” and feature returning cast members like Jessica Lange and Zachary Quinto in totally different roles.

Look like Adam Levine has had a change of heart when it comes to the celebrity-fragrance game, as Christina Aguilera has pointed out.

Ha!

It’s true, though: the Maroon 5 frontman and Voice coach is working on scents for both men and women that will encapsulate and reflect his oh-so-hot personality and style. They will be called 222 after his lucky number and be out next spring.

I can already picture the campaign.... Hope it looks a little som’in’ like this. I mean, hello!
