The Scissor Sisters have scored a surprise summer hit with “Let’s Have a Kiki,” a track off their latest effort, Magic Hour.

I...don’t know WTF a kiki is – I always imagined that if I wanted to have a Kiki I’d fly to L.A. to try to find Kirsten Dunst (btw, her Bachelerotte is coming soon, y’all, so do check out the movie’s red-band trailer) – but, man, I enjoy!

Scarlett Sings (Again)

Scarlett Johansson has had quite a summer, getting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, kicking butt in The Avengers, pseudo-canoodling with a hottie who may or may not be her bodyguard off the coast of Italy....

So, what’s a girl to do to cap it all off (other than enjoy the rumor she may be getting $20 million to suit up as the Black Widow in the next Avengers movie)?

Sing a song, of course.

Johansson – who a few years ago dropped an album of Tom Waitts covers (GTS) – is featured in French singer Lulu Gainsbourg’s tribute to his father, songwriter Serge, From Gainsbourg to Lulu, which has her doing some sexy guest-vocal work on “Bonnie & Clyde.”

The single is now out on the iTunes, while the full record – which also features Iggy Pop, Rufus Wainwright, and Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis – will be out in October.

Update: What...a cute little show.

Short, but cute.

Some so-called fans bitched about its brevity, but what do they want – for the Queen of friggin’ Pop to perform her entire “MDNA Tour” repertoire? She had to wax poetic about her controversy du jour and about how people have to stop looking outward and pointing fingers when a problem comes up.

In between all of that, M sang and danced to “Turn Up the Radio,” a terrific “Open Your Heart,” “Masterpiece,” some “Vogue,” and a beyond-theatrical rendition of “Je T’aime Moi Non Plus.”

Talk About Turning Up the Radio...

Oh, Lady GaGa – she really can’t help herself, huh: Madonna has to get in a car and let her music make the people come together, and she just gotta go and copy the Queen.

There she was, though, taking to the streets of New York City to give her Little Monsters a preview of a new dance track from the back of a parked SUV.

You guys, I heart that No Doubt are back, but it’s taken me a week since their comeback single, “Settle Down,” dropped to say so.

Like, WTF, right?

I guess I’m the one who is getting old...because Gwen Stefani and the boys are in tiptoe shape, IMHO....

Also, I had wanted to wait until I heard/saw the band perform the song live on TV because I felt it was a bit of a grower, not a shower, so I waited patiently until some clips from last night’s Teen Choice Awards became available online.

Loves it. Bring it, gimme more. Don’t ever forsake us for so long again, kids. Now...Imma go get-get-get!

Update: Btw, the Queen of Pop was in Paris over the weekend, and she decided to treat her French fans to a slip of her left nipple, y’ know...so the right one doesn’t hog all the glory.

M’s Gonna Turn It Up!

It’s coming, my fellow Madonna fans: the video for “Turn Up the Radio” is almost here.

The Queen of Pop has revealed that the Italianlicious clip (shot during a couple of stops of her “MDNA Tour” a few weeks ago) will begin burning up your eyeballs on July 16, although a 30-second preview is set to arrive tomorrow.

The Mac is Back

OMG, this is too cool: Fleetwood Mac are getting back together, again, and hitting the road in 2013.

Stevie Nicks was on CBS This Morning yesterday and confirmed, without hesitation, that the rumor was true, that the band will tour again next year.

“It’s the plan,” she said.

No, no – it’s an awesome plan, lady.

Killer Return

The boys from Vegas are it again: The Killers are back, following a short pause for lead singer Brandon Flowers to play solo for a bit.

The band reunited with producer Stuart Price for their comeback album titled Battle Born, the rousing lead single off which, “Runaways,” dropped online this week.

Welcome back, guys. Don’t ever keep us waiting like this again. It’s been too long since Day & Age.

Pink Is Back...And She Wants Ya to Blow Her

Cool-chick pop star Pink is back – cheekier than ever, people.

And I likey.

The singer, who put her career on pause following the release of a greatest hits album and motherhood, has dropped a new single titled “Blow Me (One Last Kiss)” just in time for your to listen to it on repeat and learn it over the Fourth of July holiday.

Produced by Kelly Clarkson – heck ya! – the single is a break-up song with a bit of a dancehall vibe, which I likey even more.

You can expect for “Blow Me (One Last Kiss)” to come out of your speakers via the radio next week, so until then...have a listen here, beeyotches.

M83 Cruises Into Movies

I have been hearing about M83 for a bit now, and while I am sure I have actually heard some of their stuff, I really can’t be sure.

Probably should hit the YouTube, already, huh....

Anyway, I’m sure I’ll be hearing about them plenty now that M83’s mastermind Anthony Gonzalez has been tapped to score the upcoming Tom Cruise vehicle Oblivion.

Evidently, director Joseph Kosinski was listening to a lot of his music back when he was first writing the screenplay for the movie, so he hand-picked Gonzalez for the gig.

The Olympics Get Mused

Up until now, when someone said Muse to me all I could think about was that rockin’ song (the name of which I don’t really know) and Kate Hudson.

I can happily say that I know think of the upcoming London Olympics, too.

The English trio has scored the privilege of having the official song of the 2012 games, beeyotches. (However, four other acts, including Elton John, also have recorded songs to celebrate the occasion.)

Titled “Survival,” the thundering rock anthem dropped yesterday, making its debut on British radio and soon goin’ ’round the world to end up on this post. Matt Bellamy (Hudson’s main main – get it now?) said the ditty is all about conviction and having a determination to win.

Soar with “Survival” as we wait for the games to open in exactly one month, y’all.

I Heart a Girl Who Loves the C Word

More than a few weeks ago, I had some friends in from San Francisco who would not stop making me have drinks or shut up about this song “212,” featuring Lazy Jay, and the chick who sings it, one Ms. Azealia Banks.

Honestly, I was hearing these guys talk about the lyrics of the song, and they just weren’t interesting to me. I just thought, here’s another act using cuss words (even the explicit, forbidden C word) like it’s going out of style – with a very rudimentary YouTube-friendly video, to boot.

The fact that I watched said video on an iPhone over brunch didn’t help the chick’s case any since I was more focused on my mimosa, but that is neither here nor there.

Well, I am here now loving Banks and her music.

The Harlem girl is making a name for herself out in Asia and Europe for the next few months (grr!), but I have heard “212” on the radio, and I am sooo getting her debut four-track EP, 1991 (how Adele is that, to name her record after her birth year – ha!).

And I waiting patiently for her return stateside and a gig in Miami.

Ever thought of seeing Shia LaBeouf in the buff?

Well, here’s your chance now that the actor – all of the actor – is appearing in “Fjögur Píanó,” the beyond-moody new Sigur Rós video in which he plays a man who, together with a woman, is “locked in a never-ending cycle of addiction and desire.”

Yay...dark fun!

It’s all very artsy and befitting the Icelandic indie act and all, but if you’re checking out the clip to catch a glimpse of the star’s penis, be sure to give the video again once you’ve gotten over your disappointment (not because LaBeouf is little, but because you don’t really see that much).

The music is well worth it.

No Doubt About It – They’re Back!

At last, the musical comeback of the year has a date.

This week, No Doubt revealed that they’ve titled their upcoming, much-anticipated album Push and Shove, and that its first single will drop next month..

July’s going to be busy for the band, no doubt: They are to perform at the Teen Choice Awards, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, and Good Morning America.

Sooo looking forward to this, you have no idea.

A Concert Fit for a Queen

Well, the Spice Girls weren’t there, but Paul McCartney was, so yay.

The Beatle-iest of the Queen’s knights was among the acts that took to the stage last night to help Queen Elizabeth II celebrate her Diamond Jubilee in London, and, man, what a show it was.

The show also featured Elton John, Kylie Minogue, Grace Jones, Annie Lennox, Shirley Bassey, Tom Jones, will.i.am, and Stevie Wonder.

The band has a new single off their sophomore effort, Ceremonials, and they got David LaChapelle to come out from his self-imposed video-directing sabbatical to direct an oh-so-theatrical one for them.

Check out the clip for “Spectrum,” which has Florence Welch surrounded by ballerinas and in all sorts of sparkly get-ups and a fiery tiered red wig.

It’s the most modern I’ve seen the singer look – and I heart it.
