Emily and Ewan Get Olympic

Salmon Fishing in the Yemen co-stars Ewan McGregor and Emily Blunt are reuniting for the London Olympics.

The actors will narrate “a five-minute opus magnus” that will open NBC’s coverage of tomorrow’s opening ceremony, which is promised to be “pretty breathtaking.”

I love these two people individually, so I know I will heart them on this tomorrow.

Corrections Interrupted

HBO has no need for Corrections.

That’s right – the cabler has decided to pass on ordering a series based on Jonathan Franzen’s The Corrections that would have starred Chris Cooper, Diane Wiest, Ewan McGregor, and Maggie Gyllenhaal (pictured here with her on-screen brother, played by the Moulin Rouge! actor).

It’s not so much that the powers that be didn’t like the pilot they saw (Franzen himself co-wrote it with director Noah Baumbach), they just didn’t see any long-term potential – they reportedly had concerns about adapting the bestseller into a long-running series.

Mmm, I wonder if perhaps another company (cough, cough, Showtime, cough) would be into picking this up.....

Spring McStyle

Spring has sprung, so it’s time for a new wardrobe...or, at least, it’s about darn high time to look at what’s out there.

We’re living in a budget world, after all.

GQ recently recruited that cutie-patootie emeritus Ewan McGregor to model the latest styles, and I’ve just been waiting for the right time to share that visual goodness with ya.

I’m a giver, whaddya want.

Oh, and you know what these TETs (i.e., tough economic times) do allow and call for?

A trip to the movies. I’m so gon’ go see McGregor’s latest offering, Salmon Fishing in the Yemen – it co-stars Emily Blunt...and it looks beyond-charming.
